The Thang

Merkin ladder with 90 degree rotation on curb: 1 erkin, 1 merkin right hand on curb, 1 derkin, 1 merkin left hand on curb.  That set is ‘the one’.  From there, the two, the three, the four, the five, the four, the three, the two, the one, for a total of 100 merkins (stole this one from Catskill).  Mosey to bottom of Tar Heel Warrior Mountain.

Run hard to the upper gate; recover.

Sandcrawler: eight Australian push-ups on handrail, then two men at bottom of hill run to the top.  Everyone move down two steps.  Pulsing squats for active recovery.  Man at bottom of hill leads next eight, the he and partner run to top.  Repeat till every man has run once (eights sets).  Mosey to tennis courts.

Seal burpee suicides:  run to edge of first court, six seal burpees OYO, run back.  Recover and rendezvous.   Then second court and five seal burpees, repeat until court six with one seal burpee.  Recover.  Mosey to lower gate.

Run hard till you hit pinestraw.  Recover.

Pick a parking space.  Stand at one corner on the open end.  Three jump squats.  Bear crawl to the concrete curb, lateral bear crawl across, crawl bear back to the open end of the space.  Six jump squats.  Complete nine trips and jump squat sets of 3/6/9/12/15/12/9/6/3 (also stole this one from Catskill).  Recover.

New shirt order is live.  Our thoughts are with Funny Bone and his family and their week-old baby; Meal Train is live for them.

YHC’s mother in law had a heart valve repaired two weeks ago.  Seemed fine, but yesterday the cardiologist detected arrhythmia, and she had to be admitted last night and will likely need a pacemaker.  It used to be YHC’s grandparents and their generation that were getting pacemakers, which doesn’t seem so long ago; now it’s YHC’s parents and friends.  Before long it’ll be YHC.  Time isn’t slowing down.  An insight attributed to the Buddha tells us that “the trouble is, you think you have time.”  Aye!
