First a Pulse, then a Pulse Test

QIC: Sweats
PAX: Sweats, Kitten, Big Cat, Stop, Drop, and Roll, Newt, Food Lion, Draper, Harbaugh, Pre-K, Kim Jong Still, Popeye

11 PAX conducted a pulse check at OCL.  This is a great AO that I have not visited in quite some time, and it was good to be back to mix it up again. The weather Q blessed us with some cooler weather this morning, just a touch less muggy than it has been recently, so we were all excited and ready to go.  We warmed up and hit the playground for the pulse check:

The Thang:

The Pulses:

Half the Pax on the pull up bar, half on the sidewalk.

3 pull ups for the guys on the bar, 3 jump lunges for the guys on the sidewalk.  Rest 5 seconds. Repeato. We made it past 50 and then I lost count, and then we switched.  These become brutally tough towards the end.  Many of us had to dead hang because we were so shot.  3 does not seem like a lot, but after you do about 10 sets, it does.

Next, we traveled to the hill where we tested our pulse.

The Pulse Test:

20 partner squats, then backwards run up the hill, 20 jump squats at the top, then bunny hop down, all while your partner does burpees.  Switch.  Each guy goes twice.  This was meant to blast our legs, and I believe it accomplished that in spades.  Great work by Big Cat, Kitten, Harbaugh, Draper.  Nice push on the lower body work!

Next, we executed 20 dry docks, then a traveling merkin to the first light, 20 overhead claps, then a traveling merkin back down to the sign with two arrows, then 20 more overhead claps.

Mary: We ended with 10 WWIIs and then a new favorite of mine, 20 WWIIs combined with a Russian Hammer at the top!
