Don’t Drop the Pumpkin

As YHC rolled in on 2 wheels with a minute to spare, a strong group of PAX were gathered. Half were finishing ruck PT with some kettle bell swings. (strong work) The other half were standing around. No matter, we’d get to work soon enough. With not much time to socialize, YHC circled the PAX. It was a warm, late October morning and overnight rains meant some muddy spots and humidity.

Warm up:

Good mornings x 10
Imperial Walker x 10
Arm Circles FW x 10
Arm Circles RV x 10

(At this point there was lots of mumble chatter and good natured ribbing of Marky Mark for leaving the Reverse Arm Circle out of Wed’s Big House workout. Needless to say, we saved the universe by restoring order at the Wall by including both forward and reverse arm circles).

Mountain Climber x 10
Slow Merkin x 10
SSH x 20
Burpees OYO x 10

The Thang:

Go to the rock pile and select a medium to large rock. Regroup in the parking lot.

  1. AMRAP Circuit
    • Divide into 5 groups. Group 1 runs with rock up to the top of the hill and back. Remaining PAX do AMRAP of exercise called by YHC.
      • Rock Merkins
      • Overhead Press
      • Kettlebell Swings
      • Squats
      • Curls for girls
    • (Make a quick stop at the rock pile to switch out rocks if you like YHC had underestimated the weight of the original rock.)
  2. Jacob’s ladder
    • Go to the bottom of hamburger hill and regroup with new rocks. Bottom of the hill will be squat thrusts. Top of the hill will be burpees with rock. Start with 5 + 1. Regroup at the bottom each lap.
  3. Lunge circuit
    • Lunge walk with rock IC x 10
    • Duck walk with rock IC x 10
    • Repeat
  4. Pavillion
    • Step ups IC x 10
    • Dip IC x 10 (with rock in your lap for extra weight unless you don’t feel like you have that type of relationship with the rock or your rock mysteriously jumps out of your lap as happened to Chum)
    • American Hammer with rock IC x 10
    • Dip IC x 15

Mary:

  • LBCs IC x 20
  • Right LBCs IC x 15
  • Left LBCx IC x 15 (YHC might have struggled with these)
  • Heel touches x 10 IC
