Crabs, Bears, Blocks and Ants!

Warm Up 

SSH x 20, Imperial Walkers x 10,
Slow Squats x 10, Slow Merkins x 10,
Arm circles

The Thang
Mosey over to the field with cones in the four corners.  Bear crawl different ways between cones.  Then bear crawl laterally in a circle around a cone when you reach a corner (hands stay near the cone, move your feet laterally in a circle motion around the cone).

Forward bear crawl between cone 1 and cone 2.  Left lateral bear crawl between cone 2 and cone 3.  Backward bear crawl between cone 3 and cone 4.  Right lateral bear crawl between cone 4 and cone 1.  (Plus, circle bear crawl around every cone.)

Rinse and repeat.

Switch to crabwalk and repeat the exercise.  Forward crabwalk between cone 1 and cone 2.  Left lateral crabwalk between cone 2 and cone 3.  Backward crabwalk between cone 3 and cone 4.  Right lateral crabwalk between cone 4 and cone 1.  Plus, circle crabwalk around every cone.

Time to give our arms a rest!  Suicides in the parking lot – four light posts as markers.  Stop at the top of the lot near the concrete blocks.

Moving on to Block-o-Rama:

Each Pax has two concrete blocks.  Spooky had some crazy ideas for movements with a block in each hand.

  1. Block bear crawl – in a bear crawl position, pickup right-hand block and move forward, then move the left-hand block.  Make sure to kick leg forward for support.  14 merkins-on-blocks at half way for rest, then block bear crawls back to start.  14 merkins-on-blocks to finish.
  2. Block death march – with a block in both hands, march forward while placing the blocks on the ground.  This is not a lunge but a controlled lift with the torso. 10-count rest then repeat-o back to start.
  3. Everest Climbs – with a block in both hands, right leg lunge forward, then full squat, then left leg lunge forward, then full squat.  Repeat until you reach the end.  10-count rest then repeat-o back to start.

Ditch one block, time for Block WWIIs.  On your six with a block at your feet.  Lift block backward over your body until you touch the ground behind your head.  Then lift the block over your body to return it to your feet.  Repeat-o for a total of 14.

Unfortunately Adolphus was positioned on an ant mound.  The ants attacked him throughout the Block WWIIs.
