Coming In Like A Lion …

QIC: Shooter
PAX: Slug, Foghorn Leghorn, Bouche, Dogwood, Gordo, Timber, Appomattox, Wuerffel.

With spring football practice opening at Carolina on Sunday, it was only appropriate that nine PAX took to the football stadium itself for a rousing beatdown on a windy morning in Chapel Hill.  We were joined by Wuerffel, who made his F3 debut years ago at this same workout when it was known as Fetzer.

The Thang:

Warmup SSH x 20, squats x 10, windmills x 10, arm circles forward and backward x 10, merkins x 10.

Into the stadium we went for four stations around the concourse of 10x merkins and 30 second plank holds wrapped around a 75-yard walking lunge.

Then we migrated to the east end of the concourse and the benches for three sets of dips x 10 and diamond merkins x 10.

From there we took to the field level and spread out among the aisles on the north side of the stadium and for 15 minutes ran the stairs, knocking out 10 Carolina dry docks at the top and 10 squats at the bottom.

Then we traversed the boundary of the playing field three times, sprinting the length of the field and walking the width, pausing after every lap for 30 seconds of bows-to-toes plank holds and sets of LBCs and Freddie Mercuries.

We wrapped up the proceedings with a quick round of Mary—low slow flutters, low-plank holds and gas lights.

Same time, same place next week when Bouche has the honors. And now that the new Soccer/Lacrosse facility is completed and there’s a 40-yard incline ramp outside the Indoor Practice Facility, all manner of new opportunities for challenge and variety await.
