Celebrating 8% with hill work

November 15, 2021

WHEN: 11/15/2021
QIC: Milton
PAX: Busch League, Dinghy, Nickelback, Buffay, Nubbin, RoyGBiv, Halfback

I wanted to lead today since it’s been a while and a more important reason so I could celebrate a praise report. My wife’s cancer has shrunk 8% since she started an investigational drug mid September. In honor of the 8% reduction we started with reps of 16 and finished with 8. Here’s what went down:

WARM-UP:

25 SSH, 10 WMH, 10 Good Mornings, 10 Arm Circles, 10 Squats, 10 mountain climbers

THE THANG:

PAX moseyed to the next intersection and did 16 squats and 16 merkins. We continued to mosey to a nice hill and re-lived an old Cortez workout; Burp Back Mountain – Partnered up and ran up the hill backwards/down forwards x 5 while other partner did burpees until a combined total of 100 burpees. Nickelback provided the mumblechatter by wearing a noisy windbreaker. Some thought he was planning to cut weight for his next wrestling match but in fact he was just trying to block the wind. Once finished we moseyed back to the intersection for 8 squats/merkins and circled up at the circle for a 10 count plank hold ring of fire. From there we went to the playground area to do various exercise all with a rep count of 8: squats, hello dolly’s, T-bones, WW I or WWII (much debate was had on which is straight legged; Buffay issued a final ruling and said Hillsborough does them completely backwards than everyone else), sea turtles, super man hold/6 inch leg hold ring of fire 8 count.

Mary:

Mary was incorporated towards the end of the workout above so we moseyed back to the flag and did 8 Johnny Drama’s to finish things out.

COT:

Prayers for Busch League’s extended family in Ga, Nubbin’s family is helping a refugee family from Afghanistan – the Noir (sp) family, prayers for the Thanksgiving holidays for mental health and well being. Find a friend you haven’t spoke with in a while and connect over the next two weeks. It was an honor to lead the PAX of the Northern Province today. Everyone pushed each other as always. Aye!
