It seemed appropriate to have a Nickelback themed Q this morning. So sit back, enjoy the music and review how the Pax channeled thier inner rockstar and enjoyed the journey from the humble beginnings of the Village Idiots band to what would eventually become a worldwide phenomenon known as Nickelback. YHC was so excited to begin the journey that we started promptly at 5:29am…rockstardom waits for no one not even Floyd.

The Thang

Humble Beginnings

• It”s 1995, humble beginnings for our band so we pay homage to the year with some 1995s with 19 wide grip merkins, 9 regular merkins, 5 diamond merkins
• We name our first band “Village Idiots” so we do 10 burpees OYO for that poor decision
• We have no money so we circle up for the Ring of Fire with 5 count monkey humpers around the circle to feel the humility of musician life before fame
• Plank it out while YHC informs the group we have renamed the band Nickelback after working at Starbucks and saying “here”s your nickel back” over and over again
• We borrow $4k from our stepdad to record our first album, debt is no good so we do 10 burpee OYO

Rise to Fame

• Pax mozys to the hill
• To reach the rock and roll summit we must “duck and weave” around challenges and issues so we line up, duck walk up the hill while the six runs/weaves through the pax to the front until we reach the top
• At the summit, we celebrate receiving cash from a new record deal and go back to the ring of fire this time with scrum jumps around the circle

Adversity Hits

• Our band starts to produce similarly themed songs and our audience starts to dwindle so we go back down the hill with crawl bears
• We mozy to the shelter as our band and career is hanging on by a thread so we do wall hangs of course (50 seconds)
• 19 wide grip merkins
• Wall hanging lifts (50 quick seconds)

• Wall hanging lifts (50 very quick seconds)
• 5 diamond merkins

The Bounce Back

• Go to the tennis courts (north side since we are in Canada after all) where we learn we have just teamed up for a tour with Bon Jovi and receive a bounce in our ticket sales-we line up for some frog leaps down the court
• Balls to the wall with a 5 count down the line
• Sprint back to the starting side
• Peoples chair with a 5 count down the line
