After 10 PAX put in some solid work in the 0500 EC, Lotus had to jet for the 0530 ME (had to make a call to Europe or something important sounding…thought this was a good random title that meant nothing to today’s workout).

YHC was thrilled to meet a few new PAX this morning and for the large turnout!

Warmup

Main Event

PAX were instructed to partner up and acquire weight (cinderblocks, bricks, dumbbells, kettlebells…many options left over from EC) & meet at the top of parking lot loop

Thing 1: Traveling DORA with weight

  1. Top of parking lot: Partner A Blockees AMRAP, Partner B seal claps x 20 (flapjack after 20 claps until 25 reps total of Blockees)
    • alternating shoulder taps until all PAX finish, mosey to middle of parking lot with OH carry (or OH claps)
  2. Middle of parking lot: Partner A Lunges SC AMRAP, Partner B bent over claps x 20 (flapjack after 20 claps until 50 reps total of Lunges)
    • alternating shoulder taps until all PAX finish, mosey to bottom of parking lot with OH carry (or OH claps)
  3. Bottom of parking lot: Partner A Bent over row SC AMRAP, Partner B OH claps x 20 (flapjack after 20 claps until 100 reps total of Rows)
    • alternating shoulder taps until all PAX finish, mosey to middle of parking lot with OH carry (or OH claps)
  4. Middle of parking lot: Partner A Homer to marge AMRAP, Partner B supermans x 20 (flapjack after 20 supermans until 150 reps total of Lunges)
    • alternating shoulder taps until all PAX finish, mosey back to top of parking lot with OH carry (or OH claps)
  5. Top of parking lot: Partner A Blockees x 10 reps, Partner B SSH (flapjack until 60 reps total of Blockees, 30ea PAX)

Thing 2: Catch me if you can

  • Partner A Bernie Sanders around loop, Partner B Burpees x 3 & Usain Bolt until reaching Partner A, flapjack until PAX have completed 2 laps around parking lot

Today’s workout was centered around partnering up. The phrase goes, ‘You don’t have to go at it alone.’ This assumes we go until we can’t or until adversity hits but sometimes this is too late. We should change the phrase to, ‘You shouldn’t go at it alone.’ We should first look up and then look sideways for support. We are stronger and better when we do it together.
