YHC got 2.0 Houdini out pretty soon after joining F3 last year. Like his old man, he has always enjoyed the workouts even though they all kick his butt. He is often not super stoked about waking up early, but he always puts out a good effort whenever he does post.
Noticed a while back that his 11th birthday fell on a Tuesday, the day for our home AO, and asked if he wanted to Q. He was all for it and we got him on the sheet. Was a proud dad today as he put us all through our paces in thematic fashion. He learned plenty, as we all do during our VQ, up to and including the fact that the broad jump is quite a taxing form of travel.
WARMUP
Houdini called out the cadence like a pro, the first test.

THE THANG
Kept the theme rolling with 11s. 10 merkins, 1 jump squat and so on. Running was mode of travel
Next up was 10 WWIIs, 1 Dry Dock etc. and Houdini decided to get frisky, calling broad jump down AND back as mode of travel. It did not take him long to audible to broad jump down only.
He had another set of 11s up his sleeve had there been a need, but we were right on time for the coup de grace. Circle up, and Houdini announced we would be doing 1,111 burpees collectively, or burpees for 11 minutes, whichever came first.
Thanks to several PAX, including Houdini, Boucher and Bellhop, going above their target of 101, we got to 1,125 total in 11 minutes. It was rough but we are all better men for it. Houdini, YHC and others were pretty good and smoked on the mosey back to main parking lot for

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I’d like to invite anyone who’s interested to the Temple open house. We worship on Sundays in a standard chapel. The temple, on the other hand, is not open to the public and it is the location for our most sacred ordinances. We’re lucky enough to have a temple in Apex, and it was recently renovated. Sept 21-28 will be an open house for the public, and then it will be re-dedicated and put back in operation.
