Are You Guys F3?

In YHC’s opinion, it’s fun planning routes. YHC usually starts by identifying a hill or segment that he wants to hit.  In this case, it was the ascent on Franklin and the gut punch that is Lone Pine. You find a path that gets you there, and you try to keep everything at a target distance, which for YHC is a 10k or 6.2 miles.  If you’re over, you figure out an area to trim the route, if you’re under you can add in a few extra turns or find a loop like Gimghoul. YHC played around on Map My Run, and the route was in the sweet spot. Took a screenshot, posted on Slack, and the preblast was already written.

10 PAX total would come and brave the Moose, knowing what was in store, but with the guts to tackle it.

Warm-Up: YHC gave the PAX 2 minutes to stretch what they needed before taking off.

The Thang:

The only thing YHC was worried about was getting lost in Glen Lennox and being unable to find the bike path. Luckily, it was pretty easy to find.  Close to Sunrise Biscuit Chicken a runner on the other side of Franklin called out “Are you guys F3?” Guilty as charged. The runner was Loretta, a member of F3 Shelby.  He ended up joining us for the remainder of the route.

COT:

The PAX killed it today. Lots of guys are coming a long way with their running. Hopefully more guys keep giving it a try.  The Moose PAX do a great job of incorporating runners at all abilities and paces. The point-to-point picking up the 6, in YHC’s opinion, is a winning combination.
