6 PAX showed up in 60 degree weather but with storm clouds lingering nearby. The hope was to get in a full hour on the track but it was not to be. Turned out to be a wonderful thing as 10 x 800”s is about as painful a workout as it gets and we were happy to abandon ship to seek shelter.
Warmup: 800m, SSH, Imperial Walker, Windmills, squats
The Thang:
Goal is to get in 10 x 800m with 400m recovery between each set. Seems simple enough but this is a brutal workout if you try to keep your 800m times consistent each set. Everyone finished their 4th set when the first flash of lightning occurred. Most were extremely happy not to have to finish 6 more sets so we changed course and moseyed to the closest parking deck.
Congregate at the bottom level. Run two inclines to the top of the 1st level. Jog back to bottom. Run 4 inclines to the top of the 2nd level. Jog back down. Repeat to level 3 and then to level 4.
Out of time so COT in the parking deck to avoid a lightning strike.
