A Bunch of Pre-Bull

YHC is more of a South Durham/Chapel Hill resident, and so had never made the trip up North to the rally around the flag pole at City Hall and #honeybadger. Site Q Knope had been encouraging YHC to post there for some time, and so YHC finally set aside a date to check it out. Lo and behold, the Q sheet was open for that date, and so YHC decided to jump right in and take it. Leading exercises in less familiar terrain? Honey Badger don’t care. Let’s get to work.

Count off – 9 PAX warmed-up and ready to go. We begin our Mosey down toward DPAC, when out of the gloom emerges PAX #10, and joins us on our merry way.

Mosey to DPAC, 4 stops on the way. Each stop: 25 Merkins, 25 Squats. YHC counted the first set, and then let the PAX go OYO for the next 3.

We arrived at DPAC, already with 100 Merkins and 100 Squats under our belts; a good start!

Next up, an Individual modified-pseudo-DORA (still workshopping names here): Every PAX did 50 jump lunges (per leg), 100 Dips, and 150 LBCs. They got there like this:

  • Start at picnic tables in front of DPAC. Do one set: 10 jump lunges, 20 dips, 30 LBCs
  • Run down sidewalk in front of DPAC to end of tree line (about 5o yards), then back to picnic tables
  • Repeat set (10 jump lunges, 20 dips, 30 LBCs)
  • Run down sidewalk in front of DPAC, but the other direction. Again to end of tree line (about 50 yards), then back to picnic tables. Repeat Set, etc.
  • 5 Sets total, 4 runs in between
  • Some PAX had time for a 5th run

Ricky Bobby back toward Downtown, to Major the Bull. There was a brief time where we had to split the PAX so those in the rear didn’t get hit by a bus.

One we arrived to Major, we attempted something the PAX dubbed “Bear, Bear, Bull”. Probably would have worked better with a slightly smaller group, but it was fun to try anyway.

  • All Bear-crawl in a counter-clockwise direction around Major.
  • One at a time, a PAX stands up, and runs around Major (again in a counter-clockwise direction). He returns to bear crawling when he gets back to his starting spot. Next man behind him then takes his turn.
  • Each PAX got to run once

Time to begin our trip back to Startex. Run down Parrish Street, stopping at each street lamp for ascending Burpees. There were 4 street lamps, and the number of Burpees was: 2/4/8/16 (total of 30).

The Bull is tomorrow! If you didn’t know yet, you haven’t been paying attention.

2nd F family pig pickin’/potluck on Nov 16th at the UNC Outdoor Education Center (Ramses AO). Bring the M and the 2.0s. Bringing a dish to share is nice but not mandatory. Details on Slack.

YHC very much enjoyed getting to know a new AO, and having the opportunity to lead some PAX he doesn’t usually get to see on his side of town. It was an honor as always.
