As I woke up today, I was dismayed by the intense rain coming down. My spirits were buoyed, however, by the prospect of leading a fine group of men in an invigorating work-out. Due to some extra steps required to get out the house, I arrived a few minutes late but the faithful were already warming up and ready to go. We headed to an overhang to minimize rain exposure, set the timer, and proceeded with my simple plan – 40 minutes of my favorite 40 exercises performed for 40 seconds each, with 20 seconds of rest in between. We paused a few times to jog to other locations – once to the cinderblock pile for a few weighted exercises and once to the benches on the other side of the school for some exercises requiring those. We managed to push ourselves to failure on a few exercises before the 40 seconds were up, so the intensity was pretty good. Strong effort by all.
