Heading into a post Christmas, pre New Years workout, only one thing was on everyone’s mind, Die Hard! Zook put out the challenge of a Die Hard themed workout, and YHC was set to deliver. Unfortunately no good ideas came to mind, so a half assed attempt to tie a workout in to Die Hard was made instead. The result was still a tough workout, just not as relevant as hoped.
Warmup:
SSH IC x 20
Overhead Clap
Arm Circles
The Thang:
The original idea was a bit of a Dora take off and involved pairing off, but we had 5. Quick change in plans, two groups of 2 and YHC would do both roles. The PAX would alternatively climb Nakatomi Tower and secure the lobby.
Die Hard (the original):
Partner 1 will do the climbing exercise, partner 2 will secure the lobby. Then switch:
Climb Nakatomi Tower: Grizzcalator
Secure the lobby: Squat
Climb Nakatomi Tower: Everest Climber
Secure the Lobby: LBCs
Take a recovery lap as intermission between films
Die Hard 2 – Die Harder
Climb Nakatomi Tower: Grizzcalator with 2 merkins per stop
Secure the lobby: Reverse Lunge
Climb Nakatomi Tower: Everest Climber with 2 squats per step
Secure the lobby: WWIIs
Take a recovery lap as intermission between the films
Die Hard with Vengeance (and Sam Jackson)
Climb Nakatomi Tower: Grizzcalator with 3 merkins per step
Secure the lobby: Jump Squats
At this point Hans was definitively dead (also time was out) so the triple Everest climbers never happened.
Mary:
Once again, Hans had been dropped from the window and Al Powell (AKA Carl Winslow) had already delved deeper into his PTSD by shooting Karl, so no time for Mary.
