ThinBlueLine was the beginning of "Churham" – close to the town line dividing the Durham and Chapel Hill, uniting the two shades of blue. The launch backblast ( https://f3churham.com/thin-blue-line-debut/ ) hints at the friendly competition between the two towns via Anchorman references as they formed like Volton to grow the region into the behemoth we know today. 33 PAX (27 bootcamp, 6 kettlebells) came together again, from Durham, Chapel Hill, and beyond, for a throwback workout, honoring the men who started it all.
WARMUP:
Side Shuffle Hop (20 IC), Good mornings (5 six count), Windmills (10 IC), Imperial Walkers (10 IC), Mountain Climbers (10 IC), Willie Mays Hayes (10 tempo), and 10 Perkins – an exercise I needed Coco's help to determine what it is (perfect form merkin). We did our best to make Adolphus proud, although Coco admitted he's not sure he's ever gotten the thumbs up from Adolphus on one of his perkins.
KB split off to the corner for their workout. Bootcamp began ours…
THE THANG:
Mosey to the PAINground and in groups of 3 or so, peel off and do 10 pull ups/chin ups/dead hang. Each group of 3 would call off an exercise for the remaining PAX to perform while the pull up reps were completed. Various exercises included: burpee, mountain climber, freddie mercury, johnny drama, among others YHC is failing to remember. At the conclusion of all PAX getting their pull up reps in, we moseyed back to the field, during which, YHC heard grumbling of not enough bang for your buck at the playground. This was noted, but we had other work to do…
At the field, we did Usain Bolts. Again, PAX in groups of 3 or so would sprint across the field and back, calling out an exercise for the remaining pax to perform. It was a similar set of exercises called, including burpees, squats, merkins, and others.
Upon completion, we all grabbed a rock from the rock pit, and brought them back up to the field. Lined up on the goal line, we did a walking lunge (with rocks) to midfield and back. A lively discussion between some pax and their 2.0s took place on what constituted an appropriate size rock. Once back, we did a circuit of 20 topshelf (like grabbing a bag of flour off the ground and putting it up on the top shelf of a cabinet. Start with it on the left of your feet, and raise it to the "top shelf" to the right of your right shoulder. Repeat going the other direction. This lead into 20 curls and then 20 overhead presses. Mosey to midfield and back, and repeat the rock reps. Bernie Sanders to midfield and back, and repeat the rock reps again. After the 3 round, we *gently* returned our rocks, exactly where we found them.
Back to the end line for 3 rounds of Ark Loader:
Ark loader 1: Bear crawl x 25 yards, gorilla walk x 10 yards, crab walk x 15 yards. Sprint back 50 yards and do 5 burpees.
Ark loader 2: Gorilla Walk x 25 yards, crab walk x 10 yards, bear crawl x 15 yards. Sprint back 50 yards and do 5 spicolis.
Ark loader 3: Crab Walk x 25 yards, bear crawl x 10 yards, gorilla walk x 15 yards. Sprint to the far end line to circle up for Mary.
MARY: Led by various pax, including American Hammers,
Rosadollies (6 count rosalita mixed with hello dolly), bird dog, and maybe one last exercise.

YHC took us out with a reminder that this is a leadership organization. 1st F gets most of us out, 2nd F keeps us coming back, but let's not forget this is to grow leadership within the community. How are you showing leadership in your daily lives? At work? At home? In your neighborhood and community?
Aye!
