YHC would have difficulty putting into words what The Thicket has meant to him. The Thicket has been my Monday morning for nearly 8 years. It was my first post, and I’ve posted 100s of times. I’ve Qd many of those times, too (it was the site of my VQ). The Thicket is special. It’s a place where everyone knows your name, where you catch up on weekend activities and mumble chatter about kids' sports or other neighborhood happenings.
Over the last 8 years, The Thicket has hosted 410+ rain or shine workouts (there were a few weeks off during Covid).
The Thicket was also the first site in Chatham County. Since then, we’ve added numerous sites in Briar Chapel and further south into Pittsboro. Chatham currently hosts 9 workouts weekly.
Today’s workout would be a celebration of those 8 years. We’d also pass on the shovel flag to a new site Q. (spoiler: our new site Q was the first site Q)
