My M and I have a goal to visit all 59 US National Parks during our lifetimes. In honor of this goal, the PAX got a tour of six important parks. There may be more in future Qs so that YHC can have an excuse to learn more. We were sad that Jellystone wasn’t present … this was a thematically perfect workout for that guy. Fartsacking has a high cost.
The Thang
Great Smokey Mountains National Park
Our very own NC park, out in the western part of the state where the hillbillies enjoy a contemplative life. Three sets of the following to achieve a final count of 59 for each exercise:
- SSH IC 9, 25, 25
- Mountain Man Poopers IC 9, 25, 25
- Merkins SC 9, 25, 25
- Hillbillies IC 9, 25, 25
12 Burpees and a Filbert lap to get to the next park.
Acadia National Park
Where visitors who climb the mountain early can be the first people on the American Continent to see the sun rise.
- Mountain climbers IC 9, 25, 25
- Good Mornings IC 9, 25, 25
12 Burpees and a Filbert lap to get to the next park.
Yellowstone National Park
Where one can see mountain goats nimbly hopping from rock to rock. YHC had to break these up with some ten counts. Never ask One Direction
or Cardiac for a ten count unless you also plan to ask a reasonable person right afterwards.
- Mountain Goats IC 9, 13, 12, 13, 12
- High knees and butt kickers IC 9, 13, 12, 13, 12
12 Burpees and a Filbert lap to get to the next park.
Grand Canyon National Park
Where the central feature (which can be thanked for the marvelous views) is the Colorado river.
- Alternating Boat/Canoe SC 47, 12
For the sake of time, just 12 Burpees to get to the next park.
Yosemite National Park
Where that guy from Free Solo lived his crazy dreams on the imposing and utterly recognizable El Capitan.
- Captain Thors (alternating 1:4 Big Boy Sit Ups and American Hammers) IC 10
For the sake of time, just 12 Burpees to get to the next park.
Redwood National Park
Where there are some big trees to hug.
- Global warming ROF variation with PAX holding an Al Gore while each PAX in turn duck walked for a 5 count.
For the sake of time, just 12 Burpees.
CoT
Prayers for coworker Paul, who is battling prostate cancer. Prayers for Wake County school students (including Cosmo’s 2.0s) and staff who are starting back to in-person school next week.
Congrats to Count Chocula for making it back for his second week of F3!
