Sun Salute 1 – like a deconstructed burpee. Forward fold, jump back, 3 merkins, hold low plank 3 seconds, butt down and look up (up dog), butt high with head down (down dog), jump forward, stand up. That”s 1. Repeat 5x
Sun Salute 2 – same as above but add in a left and right side runner”s lunge with 3 second hold. Repeat 3x.
Midway thru the above Maj Payne finally asks “are you trying to trick us into doing yoga?”
The Thang
Sun salutations having had no effect other than to possibly increase the rain, the pax took a short run from the AO to Scroggs field. Group split into two somewhat interchangeable groups of 4. First man ran the outer perimeter of field with a 5x burpee pit stop at the far corner. Third man did leg lifts while the second stood over him pushing his legs away. Fourth man did squats. Complete the circuit for each man.
Rinse and repeat with 10 merkins at the corner instead.
Next, mosey to the far corner of the field and crawl through the fence to the hill for a bear crawl/crawl bear 1-5 ladder with merkins at the top and squats at the bottom.
YHC then lead the sufficiently mud and grass covered pax on a long rambling jog down to DipDerkin bridge. 30x dips, 15 Derkins, 30x dips and 5 Derkins. The combination of the yoga, the rain and the workout gave YHC a vision that time is infinite and there is nothing but the moment; but the considerable mumbling in the ranks eventually pointed out that it was already 6:30 whereas YHC apparently thought a 45-minute workout lasted 60. Thereupon followed a quick run back to the start and name-o-rama. No time for savasana.
