Hard(core) Turkey Day Prep

We had a 5-pack at The Big Dance to work on our 6-pack this morning. Little did we know that everything was frozen and in short order our fingertips would be as well. Luckily, our abdominal muscles would be on fire to keep us warm and cozy for the beatdown.
Oh yeah – every 5 minutes, we did 50 flutter kicks (we did a total of 450).
After the typical warm-up, we hit up the swing set for a 3-station cycle; we cycled through 3 times.

  • Wide-grip Merkins (20)
  • Swerkins (20)
  • Inversions (Max)

Then we hit up the tennis courts for a very long bear crawl full of painful abs exercises.
Bear crawl was the default mode of travel (if you weren”t doing another exercise, you had to be bear crawling). YHC shouted out variations of plank, J-Los, spiderman merkins, mountain climbers, ranger merkins, and many other varieties of core work for a solid 10 minutes straight. This was terrible.

We ended with a special 10-minute Mary full of abs goodies:

  • 50 WWIIs
  • 20 Heels to Heaven
  • Alphabet (YHC forgot his ABCs he was so exhausted!)
  • 20 Box-Cutters
