After polling the crew, decision was made to hold a 2.0 style workout at The Heights to kick off the Thanksgiving holiday. The result was a solid turnout with boatloads of FNKs and even an FNM! After brief introductions and an explanation of what to expect, we got down to business.

The Thang #1

Turkey Trot Relays

We divided into 3 teams. Each member of the team would travel approximately 30 yards, do an exercise, then travel back to exchange with a teammate. Modes of travel and exercises changed each time. Remaining teammates performed a series of exercises together while we waited.
#1 – Run, SSH
#2 – Backwards run, Squats
#3 – Turkey walk while gobbling

Lots of silliness ensued, especially with the backwards runs on the uneven field. Only winners amongst the teams this Thanksgiving.

The Thang # 2

Four Corners

We assembled in the center of 4 evenly spaced cones in the field. 2.0s encouraged to choose a mode of travel to each corner and an exercise to lead. We would then mosey back to center and perform 3 Turkees (burpee with a gobble at the end) each time.

Corner 1 – bear crawl and American hammers
Corner 2 – lunge walk and calf raises
Corner 3 – inchworm and
Corner 4 – crab walk and squats

The Turkees were a big hit, and there was lots of gobblechatter throughout.

The Thang # 3

Farmers and Turkeys ( a variation of sharks and minnows) played in our 4 corners field.

Round 1 – Kids are Farmers and must bear crawl. Adults run across. Spot was champion
Round 2 – Adults are farmers and must turkey walk. Kids run. All-Star was champion

YHC took us out with a special focus on Thanksgiving. We then went around the circle and had everyone state one thing they were thankful for to conclude the workout. Looks like we have a new Thanksgiving tradition at The Heights!
