ME HEADCOUNT: 10

November's Shared Leadership Team Meeting was a solid meeting all around with some great work started and culminating. In the penultimate meeting of 2022, the SLT is working diligently to transfer leadership for several positions, starting in January.

In an effort to center us and remind us why we're all here, we started the meeting asking two PAX "Why am I here?" Our November meeting had Bellhop reporting out the week of his 4 year anniversary. For him the need to build relationships that were more than the business transactions and work relationships were the driving force for him. As he said, the workout is just for fun. Well Bellhop, you've certainly accomplished your goal of building a network of friends, I am proud to consider you one. Scapula shared his why as well, piling on the 'hopper train at the 4 year 2 week anniversary for him. His emphasis was slightly more on the physical improvement in his health, but the accountability the comes with working out with friends. Scap, I'll see you in the gloom next week my friend.

With a centered look at what we're doing, we jumped into the business of the region. If you watch Slack, you've likely noticed the soft launch of the newest AO in our region and the third in Pittsboro, "The Knight". Led by Guesstimator, they're soft launching this Thursday site through the month of November, with the hard launch penciled in for an early Christmas gift, of 12/1. The benefit of being a belated backblast author is that I can report they had some great support the day after the SLT at their first meeting. There'll be some kinks to work out, but based on the reports from the PAX that were there, they have the support they need.

At the October meeting the SLT talked about how we could provide more consistent support of 3rd F, and PAX in need. The brilliant minds of our local pro bono law firm of Malawsky and Wolfe llc, researched and provided a recommendation to the SLT that we work with the F3 Foundation (F3F) to potentially establish a charitable fund that the PAX could donate to as needed, we could hold some funds, and disperse when something comes up. More information to come, but the SLT asked M&W to continue the conversation with the F3F to see how we could get this going. More to come in early 2023.

Our 1st Fs, (Bump Daft & Maraschino), gave kudos to the strong work of Floyd on the 2022 Bull. They also reported out about their work on a convergence with Burlington. A date will be announced soon. With the start of 2023, the first Quarterly Report slated for 1/7 , led to Castaway agreeing to establish a full year calendar of key F3 Churham events that we'll distribute to the PAX. Get these items on the family calendar, tell the M, and make sure the kids have a place, because we have some exciting opportunities in 2023.

2nd Fs (Bellhop & Uzi) have been planning a holiday event extravaganza. HOLD THE DATE FOR THE EVENING OF 12/17. Please plan to bring you M, get dressed up if you so desire, and join us to bring in the holidays, recognize the leadership of our F3 brothers, and be there for the conclusion of the holiday fundraiser competition. Likely scheduled form 8-10 pm, and located in Chapel Hill, please hold this date and make plans to join us.

Moore reported out for the 3rd Fs. The big news for this month is the kickoff of the Holiday Fundraiser, which will happen in mid November. We've broken the Region into six teams that will each choose a children's charity, give, and solicit donations via a website. The website will track the competition, and after the conclusion of the competition on 12/17, all of the donations for each charity will be distributed to that charity. Since we are a leadership organization, here are your leaders and the charities selected for the teams:
Chatham – Bada Bing? – CORA Food Pantry
Southern Village – Roots – TABLE NC
Chapel Hill – Boucher – Christmas House
South Durham – Crash Cart – Charity TBD
North Durham – Managu – Charity TBD
Hillsborough – Dinghy – Charity TBD
If you have questions about the competition, please reach out to Moore. If you have questions or input on the specific charity reach out to the PAX above. If you wonder where you are regarding the teams, let me know.

Our Rucking Q (Scapula) provided us with the good new that the 5th annual Holiday Ruck will be happening on 12/8. Its an easy ruck hosted by The Exchange, ending at his house for a bonfire, snacks and some glorious 2nd F. Based on year's past you'll never know what you may see. Sidecar humping inflatables? It's happened. Too many cigars and handles of whisky being passed around, maybe. S'mores? You betcha. A great time, and opportunity to learn more about Rucking? That's what it is all about.

Are you in need of some of the EH business cards that have made the rounds? Are you relatively new and in need of some sweet F3 Churham gear? Does your M lament that sweet, sweet smell in all of your old F3 shirts? Well, our Communications Q (Castaway) is leading the charge for getting more cards, and coordinating an F3 Churham Mudgear order. The shirts likely will not be here before Christmas, but you can at least get them ordered. Be thinking of not only your workout attire, but any 2.0 shirts you may want for Dad Camp 2023, Romper Room, or any other gifts.

I don't want to spoil the next backblast, but we did confirm that we'll have a few new faces on the SLT next year. For our double positions (1st F, 2nd F, 3rd F, and Expansion Qs), we established early on that we needed to stagger terms, so we should have one of each transition out after 1 year (our terms are 2 years). Our 1st Fs, will remain the same. Maraschino got an early start in his his role as a 1st F after Cosmo had to step away. We have confirmation on one new 2nd F Q, and confirmation on a new 3rd F Q. For expansion, we have one that is stepping down, and I'll name a person in that place in early 2023 after we determine our priorities for the year. My intent is to have one SLT member that can focus on the strategic priorities instead of being bound to one specific role on the SLT.

Nightshift rounded out our night by suggesting, in true Weasel Shaker fashion, how helpful the communication, podcasts, and F3 Nation is for our SLT roles. He encouraged all of the SLT members to connect with the Nation. I'd take it one step further and encourage any of the PAX to connect with the Nation. The easiest way to get started is to search F3 in whatever podcast library you subscribe to, and to get on the F3 Nation Slack. Check out this link to sign up and learn more: https://f3nation.com/slack/

That wrapped up a solid meeting full of work on behalf of each of you.

Whether it's the upcoming convergence, the holiday fundraiser, your VQ, or doubling down on your posts, we have ample opportunities in Churham for all three Fs. This time of the year can be challenging time for many PAX, if you're on the fence, or know a PAX that is, please jump into any of the opportunities mentioned above. Selfishly, do it for you; once you do though, you'll see how your involvement makes our region, your F3 brothers, and our community a better place. This gentlemen, is how iron sharpens iron, and we leave no man behind.

Thank you all for the opportunity to lead the finest region in all of F3 World.
