PAX: Nickelback, Nubbin, Dinghy, Cortes, Buffay, Hot Chicken, Marino (Respect!), Regulator, Snooki (Respect!), Bedpan (Respect!), White Belt, White Label
ME HEADCOUNT: 13

What's a few weeks between the workout and the backblast anyway, right?
YHC has taken a disappointingly long time to get this backblast in. Especially considering the documentation and history kick he's been on. Apologies all around for the delay…

Without any further ado, the completion of the Pumpkin Pec Power Founding Fathers Bonanza!

Throughout YHC's Pec Power trip, I've attempted to share, or better yet, have the PAX who were there share, some of the history of each of the sites. It's been an honor to lead the sites, and an honor to have as many PAX show up, and share stories each day during that first week of August. Truly humbled by this privilege.

For the culminating Q, we went back, WAY back, all the way to 2017 to revisit the launch workout not just of #duck-and-weave, but of the Northern Province altogether! Some modifications were made, either due to limitations with the Riverwalk still being closed, or an exercise not being fully remembered these 8 years later. But as we do, we modified as necessary!

Warmarama – out in the parking lot as there was some traffic, and too many PAX, to stay in the deck
Side Shuffle Hop (26), Windmills (26), Cherry Pickers (26), Bootslappers with overhead claps (26), Merkins (16), Squats (21), Heel Raises (22) (adding up to 163, the number of years since Cinco De Mayo, which is also the day (5/5) Duck & Weave launched).
THE THANG – still out in the lot.
Reform War Begins!

Pax divide into two teams (conservatives and liberals) representing the Mexican Civil Warm, and face their counterpart across the parking lot
On the command “charge!” the two sides race to the one another, meet, and drop down to perform 5 Booyah Merkins
After competing the merkins the Pax raced to the opposite side of where they started and completed 5 squats and held it until hearing the next “charge!” command. Repeat 4x.

Verge of Bankruptcy

After the civil war, Mexico had little money left so the Pax circled up for some Ring of Fire (homage to Johnny Cash) with the Pax planking while one member completed his 5 Monkey humpers
(The original backblast has this little note, which we did not get the honor of re-experiencing: This exercise made an impression on the Hillsborough library staff as they opened to this scene)

Foreign Invasion!

The Pax circled up and learned that Spain, Britain, and France were all sending over representatives to Mexico across the sea demanding payment of debt so we complete boat/canoes (15)
We (representing Mexico) successfully pay off the British and Spanish burpees OYO (10)
However the French don't agree to our terms so we do 6 count Burpees (10) while we consider our options.

Retreat!

The Mexican government retreats which the Pax embrace by completing the first ever Duck and Weave through the parking lot, which coincidentally equaled one lap.
The Duck and Weave: line up as if doing an Indian run but the Pax are all duck walking while last man weaves through each men until getting to the front and duck walking.

Battle of Puebla

The Pax successfully retreats to the Riverwalk entrance representing Puebla 155 yrs ago
The Pax must take on the French army which outnumber them 2:1 by completing traveling burpees up the hill and lunge walking to the parking deck (instead, we did traveling burpees up from the bottom of the deck, and lunged back down)
The Pax then needs to hold that wall by Balls to the Wall 15 count (3x) and People's Chair (2x). There may or may not have been some dust causing some intense sneezes from an unnamed PAX.

Mary

Victory is celebrated by completing some “Mexican Hammers” (15x)
Scrum jumps starting in plank and then jumping to where your hands were while moving to the squat (15)
LBCs (20)
Scissors (15)

YHC appreciates all that the northern province brings to Churham. It's been an especially rewarding experience to revisit all of these original workouts with some of the original pax who launched the sites, and hearing their stories, old and new.
