During the pre-blast mumblechatter, YHC discovered a remarkable and almost unbelievable scenario that happened at the third week of #paradise 's existence. On Bogey's VQ, he discovered a car already parked in the lot upon his arrival to set up his workout. Upon inspection, he learned that there was a frisky couple enjoying a pre-dawn workout of their own. For more, see: https://f3churham.com/paradise-by-the-dashboard-light-no-really/

And it was during my research into the early days of #paradise that YHC realized that Paradise was launched in the middle of what you might call an expansion draft week. #theeagle launched Monday, 2/6/17 ( https://f3churham.com/circuits/ ), #paradise on Thursday 2/9/17 ( https://f3churham.com/welcome-to-paradise/ ), and #thebatteringram on Saturday, 2/11/17 ( https://f3churham.com/the-battering-ram-hard-launch/ ). Additionally, while YHC thought he had heard the region became known as Churham once #thinblueline launched in early 2014, as a centrally located AO where both Chapel Hill and Durham would join once a week, YHC discovered that it wasn't until a couple weeks before these three sites launched that the region was officially dubbed "F3 Churham," another fun piece of history associated with #paradise. See the announcements (with Paradise and TBR mentions) from @yanni here: https://f3churham.com/the-fall-guys/

Enough about that. You're hear for the cold hard facts of how we pushed each other to make the most of each day this morning.

After a perfectly coincidental 9 PAX completed an explosive EC led by @vice (seriously, HGB and YHC, both lefties, I might humbly point out, destroyed the baseballs Vice brought for the third week (triples!) of his baseball themed April ECs), we circled up. As the seconds ticked closer to 0530, more and more of the the faithful #pardise PAX showed up. After a quick count off, which would decide what workout we'd do, we had even numbers and set off on our workout, recreating the 2nd #paradise beatdown from 2/16/17 ( https://f3churham.com/basic-blocking-and-tackling/ ).

WARMUP:
Much to @atta-boy's chagrin, we immediately started a fellowship mosey up to the blocks. PAX grabbed a block, and we headed back to start for 20 IC Side Shuffle Hop, and right into the beatdown.
THE THANG:
Partner up. PAX 1 takes his cinderblock up and down the stairs while PAX 2 does squat to overhead press at the bottom. Flapjack x3.
During this section, some of our more seasoned PAX tried to remember if they were present at this workout or not. But based on the backblast, only Spooky was present, and he did in fact remember it. Serious kudos to the him for remembering something from about 4,000 workouts ago.
Back to the thang.
Mosey with your cinderblock down to the traffic circle. Put block up on the circle and bearcrawl around circle back to your block. Plank on your block until all return.
Mosey up to the teacher's parking lot for B-L-I. Blockees (burpees with cinderblocks), lunges with cinderblocks and imperial walkers. Fat Tire inquired if the Imperial walker was with a block, and the rest of the PAX, ever so politely, requested that he shut his mouth. And while the answer was no blocks for the IWs, Golden Boy did come up with a great idea – the Imperial Blocker, which YHC did workshop a bit to see how difficult it would be during that part of the circuit. Answer: somewhat awkward until finding the right height to hold the block and distance to rotate the block for each rep. Similar to the stair climb: PAX 1 does the first exercise while PAX 2 runs the circle. Flapjack until all three are complete. Plank on block until all are done.
Mosey to the bus circle for M-P-S. Merkins on your cinderblock, plankjacks on your cinderblock and squats with your cinderblock. Same as before but low squat hold until all are complete.

It was here that we ran out of time and had to return the blocks. The OG crew did one more exercise here: go down the stairs, jog down Tar Hill, sprint back up, and hold People's Chair (with your block) until all returned.
We moseyed around the back side of the school, stopping at startex with our blocks for YHC favorite block exercise: the NEMO. It's a combo of a get up and a blockee, and is something like a 16 count exercise (Start laying flat on your back, with a cindy on the ground above your head. Grasp the cindy, bring to your chest, perform one press straight up.Place cindy to one side, then kick out your legs or flip over to an inclined plank position. Perform one incline merkin, then without releasing the cindy, stand up and perform an overhead press. Return to inclined plank, perform another inclined merkin. Return to position on your back, perform one press straight up over chest with cindy. Return cindy to position over your head for one rep – we repeated turning to the other side, for a balanced workout).
Return blocks, and similar to the original workout, we ran out of time for Mary.

ANNOUNCEMENTS / COT:
4/30 – next Wednesday 4th Anniversary Convergence for The King's Dominion (House of Pain will be closed). See the announcement in this channel for details and to sign up to bring something.
5/3 – two weeks – Quarterly Report at TBR. Sign up on the mega doc (looks incredible, EEEEC starting at 4:30, with numerous other ECs at more reasonable times, then various ME stations starting at 7. All led by Churham/TBR stalwarts). Vice is shooting for 100 PAX!

YHC took us out with an old Arnold Schwarzenegger quote: “”The last three or four reps is what makes the muscle grow. This area of pain divides the champion from someone else who is not a champion.” This is true for anything we do in our lives. Exercise, work projects, relationships, community service – the easy part is starting. The hard part is the last few reps/tasks/commitments. Will you push yourself, even when you think no one is watching? Will you go above and beyond, and push yourself best the best possible version of yourself you can be? Go out today and finish those last few reps, men!
