Burpee Catch Me If You Can around the soccer field, mosey to the playground parking lot
Main Event: Dice of Pain. 2 sets of cones ~20 yards apart. 4 custom dice — #1 = exercise, #2 = rep count, #3 = mode of transportation, #4 = ice breaker. Each PAX took turns rolling 4 dice and leading group in exercise. Take mode of transportation to next set of cones, and then repeat the exercise with half the number of reps. Mosey back to initial set of cones. I finally learned how Nubbin got his name through this exercise — I had previously thought that he had a superfluous 3rd nipple. Also learned a bit more about Doug as we cycle through.
Mary: Ring of Fire counting out "4 score and 7" LBCs in honor of President's Day and Lincoln's Gettysburg Address
Mosey back to pool area. Thoughts and prayers out to Busch League's mother who is being treated for pancreatic cancer. Kudos to everyone who helped make Wolf-23 a success. Announcement about Cloudbuster event (see Cortes post for details).
FNG naming issues: Consensus opinion was for "Doug" to be named Skeeter based on the cartoon character Doug's best friend, Mosquito "Skeeter" Valentine. After departing The Rock, there was a shocking revelation that there already is a PAX named Skeeter, causing considerable alarm. An emergency, unofficial, ad hoc naming council was virtually assembled to manage the crisis. Following review, it was decided that "Doug" will be known from this day forth as QUAILMAN, Doug Yancey Funnie's super hero alter ego.
Abraham Lincoln quote for reflection: "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."
Couple of others that I like:
1) "You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today."
2) "You can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses."
3) "I don't like that man. I must get to know him better."
Thanks for the opportunity to lead the group this AM for my VQ! I have been posting for the past 6 months following Busch League's invitation, and it has had a really positive impact on my life.
