Opportunity to Q at Kenan coincided with UNC basketball team's season officially going in the crapper, so inspiration for today's workout was the fact that UNC fans now must turn their hopes to football season. In February. This sucks and is weird. (1-5 since that NYT article about NILs came out, just saying.)
Anywho, thought about throwing in a few rounds of two-hand touch toward the end of the workout but Uzi reminded me during EC that the field is not terribly well lit so we scrapped that in favor of doing a bunch more burpees.
7 EC runners, Cherry, Uzi and YHC for a leisurely EC ruck
WARMUP
SSH etc., count off, head to field, line up on goal line
Bear crawl to midfield, complete 10 merkins, 10 WWII, 10 squats
Crawl bear to other goal line, 10 merkins, 10 WWII, 10 squats.
Run to 10, backwards run to goal line, run to 20, backwards run to goal line, run to 30, backwards run to goal line, etc., all the way across the field until the very last so everyone wound up on opposite goal line.
Recovery mosey to midfield. UNC gave up 77 points to NC State yesterday, so we did 77 penalty burpees, 11 at a time.

Mini Dora, lunge walk to 15yard line, crawl bear back. This was modified to 10yard line after a couple of rounds. Partner sets completed:
50 burpees
100 jump squat (mod to regular squat as needed)
150 plank jack SC

Q soup style, with each PAX taking turns calling an excercise – groiners, flutters, homer to marge, some crazy makhtar ndiaye/plank jack combo from Right Swipe, heels to heaven, box cutters, mountain climbers

Kid-schlepping duties mean I usually have to post close to home, so always try to get out of SoDu when the kids aren't in school. Kenan is such a fantastic site, especially for dyed-in-the-wool Tar Heels like YHC, and Right Swipe and Lightweight clearly have done an excellent job carrying the torch and keeping this iconic AO strong and flourishing. Awesome to post today with a bunch of guys I don't usually get to see, including more than a few real OGs! Grateful for each and every PAX who turned up today. An honor and a privilege to lead. Aye!
