You've heard "it's your workout," but it often does not feel that way. When the plan is to travel a certain distance or compete a number of reps, it feels more like a competition. That's not necessarily bad. The competitive spirit pushes us to be strong/faster/better. It also can result in our rushing our exercise and in doing so negatively affecting the form and or range of motion. There are 2 formats that push without affecting our form. The first is Every Minute on the Minute, aka EMOM. I like to tell men to pick their own number. One man's 8 is another man's 10 and no one is counting your reps. The second is As Many Reps As Possible aka AMRAP. Just keep moving. All men complete the work at the same time and that eliminates the propensity of hurrying the work to get done.

Minor note on EC. It takes many forms. The high level definition would be work done to supplement the workout. This morning we had 2 men run to the AO and a third who arrived early to the AO to run 5 miles Hans Solo.
