The MLK holiday meant the opportunity for a late start at Jolly Roger. We got the ball rolling at 0700 and were even blessed by a Vice siting. He apparently had also posted at Devil’s Ridge earlier that morning.

Before we could get underway with the main event, 10 penalty burpees were dolled out for one late arriving AO site Q who shall be left nameless. We then moseyed down to the bottom parking lot and unloaded some coupons from the back of YHC’s FJ Cruiser. There were two 45 lb kettlebells, two 35 lb kettlebells, a 60 lb sandbag, and a five gallon bucket filled with gravel. We worked as a team to get the coupons over to the Riverside track.
Main Event: MLK Memorial W.O.D.
We would honor the late Martin Luther King Jr. through our workout today. To honor the date of his birth and the date of his death, we completed 19 hand release merkins, 29 body weight squats, 19 burpees, and 68 tuck jumps. PAX then carried the coupons 100 yards down the straightaway. PAX that were not carrying coupons could lunge walk the distance, or backwards run if they were the six. We completed this sequence four different times.
After our second set, YHC called a mid-workout Mary Break and led the PAX in a set of 20 box cutters and 20 Freddie Mercuries.

We then carried the coupons back to the FJ and moseyed back to Startex.
