In Latin America, Christmas Eve is referred to as Nochebuena, which translates in English as the Good Night. This is the day that most families will get together for a feast after attending Christmas mass. YHC would be feasting tonight with the in-laws, so the burning of extra calories was the plan for this morning. 

We decided on a 0700 start this morning to allow PAX some extra sleep. Misery would join YHC for an EC run beforehand. We decided to give the PAX an option to do a run led by Soda or a boot camp led by YHC. 5 PAX chose the high cardio boot camp and 5 chose the run.

The Thang:

We made our way towards the intersection of Morris and Corporation, picking up a late arriving Vice on the way. YHC had the PAX complete five burpees at each intersection with a traffic light during the journey (there were 5).

At the corner of Morris and Corporation, YHC explained today’s ladder workout. We used two reference points: a crosswalk and a utility pole about halfway between Corporation and the crosswalk.

• Run to pole, 2 merkins. Run to Corp, 2 lunges.
• Run to crosswalk, 4 merkins. Run to Corp, 4 lunges.
• Run to pole, 6 merkins. Run to Corp, 6 lunges.
• Run to crosswalk, 8 merkins. Run to Corp, 8 lunges.

We continued this pattern all the way until we completed 24 merkins and lunges. 12 trips up the hill, topping out at 24 reps. In total, 156 merkins and lunges. PAX picked up the six when finished.

We made our way back to the AO using an alternate route. YHC and Spot were out in front and did a few more sets of burpees at the traffic lights as we waited for the six.

We got back to the AO and the runners were back early for some Mary.
