YHC was tasked with correcting terminology and historical accuracy of gothic architecture. There were no cantilevers used but there were flying buttresses. The purpose of which is to transfer lateral load from stone roof structures and wind down to the ground in the shape of a half Gothic arch. So this workout was based on getting our booties flying as well as working on our supporting structures.

1. Killer bees. Bear crawl across field, broad jump back. Every 5 jumps do a burpee. Second round through was lunge walks and 2 burpees. Bear crawls were us forming arches with our bodies and broad jumps were flying booties.
2. Mosey to corner of field with tall stone wall. We practiced making half arches to support the wall by doing Balls to the Wall. 5 count hold each PAX, then plank walk around corner, do another BTTW 5ct, plank walk back, then 10ct BTTW.
3. Mosey to Motorco for sets of Australian Pull-ups, single leg step ups, dips. After 2 rounds and PAX recovering on the ground appreciating the beauty of a tower crane lit up in the gloom, it inspired the last addition to the final sets, which I’ve dubbed the Gothic Cantilever. Standing on one leg, in a position to do Oil Derricks, but instead stay on one leg and do single leg squats while bent at the waist with the other leg behind. Works on balance and smokes your glutes.
Mosey to startex for Mary:
J-Lo’s, Flutters, single leg and regular Homer to Marge, end with ROF in table position.
