Today was the first of two back to back Qs for YHC at The Big Dance.  As I explained to the other 9 PAX that braved the colder than it should have been gloom, we were going to compete in some exercises that were taken from a Men’s Journal posted on Slack.  The story, “The 30 Best Bodyweight Exercises for Men”, had some great F3 staples so I thought we’d give it a try.  There were too many for one workout, so some of them will be will be featured next week in another two team competition.

At the Playground YHC explained that there were 9 exercises that the two teams would compete in.  The team that got all PAX through the reps first won.  Tuco and Soybean agreed to keep the tally for their respective teams.  When each PAX was complete with the exercise, they were to plank if our exercise was standing, or low squat hold if the exercise was on the ground, that way we could tell who was done.  The sequence was:

3 Sets of Pull Ups x 13 reps (partner assist if necessary)

Step ups (alternating legs) x 39

Dips x 39

WW2 x 39

Merkins x 39

Jump Squats x 39

I wasn’t able to keep track of what team won each event, but I believe team 1 beat team 2 with a 5-3-1 record.  Nice work Team 1!  Come back next week, and we’ll try to keep the teams together to finish the Men’s Journal workout.  As always, I appreciate the opportunity to lead a good group of guys early in the morning.  SYITG.
