The number 261 should be well known to most marathoners, especially women. This was the number Kathy Switzer wore while competing in the Boston Marathon as the first woman to do so. She registered with her initials so that she would be admitted. During the race one of the race directors attacked her and yelling at her to get out of his damn race. Kathy’s courage to buck the system made her a pioneer in women’s running and an inspiration to millions of women around the world.

Go out today and be courageous, do something to impact your community. Till our next meeting in the gloom, Aye!

Special thanks to Bunyan for the Tennis ball game!!
