What a great way to spend a Saturday morning

April 2, 2018

WHEN: 03/31/2018
QIC: Kia
PAX: 31 PAXs and 2.0s showed up for the fun.

It was a huge crowd on Saturday.  I was not sure if the holiday weekend was going to make it a large or small crowd.   Thank you all 31 guys that joined in the fun.

The warm up:

A group run around the soccer field meeting up in the middle

Arm circles, Imperial Walker, hill billys, and good mornings x  10 each got everyone warmed up.

After Mr. Brady reminded me to check for FNGs (there were none), we headed to the bottom of the hill.

A backwards run up the hill was followed by 25 dips on the railing.  We ran from  the top of the hill to the edge of the school parking lot.  The school was nice enough to leave out some cones so we lunge walked to the first cone, bear crawled t o the second, and lunge walked to the end of the parking lot.   We look an easy run to get to the center of the track/ football field.

The workout:

Everyone was split into groups of 4 and assigned a letter.   After a tearful goodbye to other folks in each group, we split off into four groups at four points on the track.

Station #1 did 20 burbees OYO and then ran to station #2.   The person at station #2 was doing LBCs waiting for the person from station #1.  Station #2 then ran to station #3 and found their group mate doing squats.  Station #3 ran to station #4 and found a group doing flutter kicks.  #4 then ran to station #1 and did 20 burbees.   We continued around until everyone was back where they started.

Round two of this had station #1 still doing burbees.  Station #2 doing Russian hammers, Station #3 doing ‘merkins, and station#4 doing side shuffle hop.

After finishing two rounds we ran back to the top of the parking and luckily  the cones were still there.  We lunge walked to the first cone, bear crawled to the second, and lunge walked to the third.  A run took the group back to the top of the hill for some dips.   A backwards run down the hill followed by a easy, recovery lap around the field got us back to the center of the field for Mary.

Mary:  a ring of fire- six inch leg lift hold for a count of five for each PAX and 2.0.

The sun was up by now and it was getting warm- time to send everyone home their loved ones.

There were two prayer requests for individuals dealing with newly diagnosis of cancer.

Don’t forget about “need for speed” at the Tar Heel Ten Mile.

The Bull is April 14- be prepared to get “damp” and have a great time.

Thank you again for everyone coming out and spending your morning with me.  Looking forward to the next Q.  Cheers, Kia
