Two Men Enter. One Man Leaves.

WHEN: 07/19/2017
QIC: Avalanche
PAX: Avalanche, My Little Pony, Prancing Horse, Boucher, Harbaugh, Tarter, MARTA, Appomattox, Ricky Bobby, Timber, Dean Wormer, Pedialyte, Right Swipe, Misery, Hoppy, Cooter, Ocho

A number of brave souls assembled this morning at a Subprime-less, Lone Pine-less Rameses.  The conditions were awesome: fresh from a recent rain, cooler-feeling than recent history, and mild compared to what is forecast for the end of this week.  Timber started the count off in Spanish.  We made it through about eight, and then the wheels fell off, since Ocho up was standing in the number three or four position.  Somewhere across the count, English became the primary language and we made it to fifteen.  We started the warmup with an intentionally slow Carterico Indian Run.  The Eagle Shovelflag stayed up front, since the Rameses Shovelflag is rumored to be on the summit of Ras Dashen (4,550m) in Ethiopia where Subprime may or may not have visited during one of his hill runs after being EH’d by local talent.  We can neither confirm nor deny this rumor.  Wait!  There’s Right Swipe flying in, and there’s Hoppy.  Now we have seventeen and the tribe is still staying together nicely.

I believe Misery was the first to observe how bright The Forest Theatre (a.k.a. the freshly branded “Thunderdome”) was.  Since we are only +28 days off of the Summer Solstice and 21% of the moon is visible today, the albedo was spectacular.  Almost as spectacular as travelling across snow when the moon is bright.  PAX were giddy with excitement anxious to learn what was planned for them next.

The next exercise is: The Imperial Walker.  Cadence Count to 10.

The next exercise is: The Moroccan Nightclub!  I love this one because it’s a hoot.  50 Cadence Count got the shoulders heated up.

Next, go face the wall up very close.  We stood six inches away from the wall for Cadence Count Squats, about fifteen of them.  We kept our hearts upright to avoid chipping teeth or butting foreheads.

The final part of this series was the Eight Count Body Builder.  It’s a step by step Burpee combined with a Plank Jack.  We did ten In Cadence and then exited the theatre temporarily to check on the plethora of picnic tables out back.  The Russian Dip was the exercise of choice, and we did twenty of them In Cadence.  We started with the right leg up and then immediately knocked out twenty more with the left leg up.

This took us to the more unstructured portion of the programming.  PAX paired up (Two Men Enter) as they returned to the Thunderdome for an “All You Got” session for ~13 minutes.  One Man Big Boy Box Jumps to the top of The Forest Theatre where he then knocks out ten Nolan Ryans (five on the left and five on the right).  After he completes the Nolan Ryans he runs back down to his partner who is doing AMRAP Morning Woods.  The number of Morning Woods achieved is the baseline goal a returning partner tries to match or exceed.  We made it through about four rounds.  The Morning Woods did not get any easier across time nor did the Big Boy Box Jumps.  The stairs get taller toward the top of the theatre and it feels as if they also grow in size between each round.  Hearts were pumping.  Very impressive AYG push by the PAX during this series!

We then RTB via a Bataan Death March.  Dean Wormer showcased his speed and Cooter found a safe home for the Shovelflag.  It doesn’t feel right to visit Rameses without at least dipping your big toe into THWM.  And if you don’t experience the whole mountain you should at least check out its steepest section.  We Crawl Beared up the final pitch to about where the walkway comes in and PAX settled in for some Sundial Merkins.  We did five In Cadence facing twelve o’clock, three o’clock, six o’clock, and finally nine o’clock.  From there, we did an AYG sprint all the way to the trees at the top of the parking lot for a simple Mary session, which included about twenty Upstate Box Cutters In Cadence.

COT

Prayers to Family Subprime as they travel during their return to Chapel Hill from Ethiopia.

NAKED MAN MOLESKINE

Prancing Horse, thanks sharing the history lesson with the PAX today!  Perhaps you could share that on the SoDur Mom’s group next time?  And what’s with all your “neighbors?”  F3 Management needs to give you a wrapped F3 bus so all you guys can make it to the workouts.  Way to go Tarter for continuing to come out.

Ricky Bobby, RESPECT, you are a beast; it was fun attempting, quite unsuccessfully, to hit your baselines during the partner portion of the workout.  One Man Leaves.

MLP, awesome push on the ruck and thanks knocking down the spiders.  I’m not a spider guy.  Good luck with the Spartans, and good on ya for helping all those small business with their advertising needs.  You know your #%it!

MARTA, thanks for the Morning Wood demo.  It still feels awkward trying to get up off the ground during this exercise.

PAX, solid times with all of you this AM!  Way to push ourselves, encourage each other, and stay together.  SYITG.
