Two dudes, the handles, and some bells

November 9, 2017

WHEN: 11/09/2017
QIC: Chef Tell
PAX: Griswold

YHC and Griswold met at the Woods Charter playground for 0500 EC pull-ups. No rep counting. It felt like we did somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 a piece. Solid work for a cool, damp morning.

0530 came and went without the sight of any more PAX. Looks like it’s just two dudes, the handles, and some bells.

No warm up since we were already warm from the pull-ups.

THE THANG:

YHC came up with this one on the fly, and it delivered the pain.

  • Pax 1: Farmer carry (2 x115#) around the Woods Charter parking lot circle. This was no short distance carry. YHC estimates that the total distance was 80 yards around the circle. The only goal was to finish. Take as long as needed to complete the circle.
  • PAX 2: Kettlebell medley. YHC sent out the call last night and rounded up two KBs (35#, 50#). Thanks, Rambler! While PAX 1 was making the epic trip around the lot, PAX 2 was doing AMRAP swings, sumo squats, clean and press, one-armed rows, etc.
  • Switch once PAX 1 completes the circle.

We completed two rounds. We were smoked. No Mary.

COT:

YHC and Griswold discussed his family’s recent trip to Annapolis and DC, where Griswold and family witnessed American greatness in the form of presidential memorials/monuments and Arlington National Cemetery. It was the kind of morning that makes one proud to be an American, and especially grateful for the sacrifices of those who have served this great nation so that we may live in peace and freedom.

It was an honor to lead this morning. Aye!
