We all were slammed with excitement about the Solar Eclipse.  When, where, how? Grab your glasses, watch out for counterfeit shades, skip out on work…

Spooky laid out some facts via rep counts and then had Pax running in circles for a F3 Eclipse.

4-8-2024 – date of the next solar eclipse with blackouts in the United States.  Yes, its not that far off.

Run to roller rink in Southern Community park.

Imagine a medieval view of astronomy: the earth is the center of the universe. The moon travels around the earth in a close orbit.  The sun travels around the earth in a further orbit.  Whenever the sun and moon are parallel then the earth experiences a solar eclipse.

Therefore, Pax planked in a circle at center circle in the roller rink – they represented earth.  One Pax carried a 30 lb slam bag around center circle – representing the moon.  One Pax carried a huge therapy ball overhead while running along the inside walls of the roller rink – representing the sun.

Whenever the moon was parallel to the sun then the  Pax carrying the moon yells “eclipse”.  All Pax on earth then perform 5-merkins, burpees, or WWIIs as predetermined.

The round ends when the Pax with the sun makes a complete loop around the inside of the rink.  Then switch Pax on “moon” and “sun”.

Several Pax set it as a challenge to get four eciplses per round. Pax had two rounds each as “moon” and “sun”.
