I love F3 workouts because they involve whatever is around and whatever diabolical whims the Q has cooked up – from “fun” games, merkin wheels, ladders and pyramids, F3 workouts are great and sometimes CSAUP (Completely Stupid And Utterly Pointless), but always productive in sharpening your mind and body with your fellow F3 brothers. Today was a special opportunity to move some gravel for a cause and 9 PAX stepped up to the challenge and descended into the Gravel Pit for an OG AMRAP beatdown. The objective was to move 3 giant piles of gravel behind a rock wall using only shovels and buckets.

Warmup:

SSH

Windmill

High kicks

The Thang:

Divide into teams of 3 to Fill, Carry and Pour – 1) Fill a bucket with gravel; 2) Carry said 50-80 lb bucket o’gravel and clean and press it onto a 5’ tall wall; 3) Pour the bucket behind the wall, rinse and repeat AMRAP. YHC is fond of tying exercises to a song (plus it makes for an automatic timer) so the PAX rotated tasks on each song. Unfortunately, most of the songs lasted ~5 minutes so your activity lasted for the duration, AMRAP. The mumblechatter stopped immediately once the PAX dug into stylings of:

  • Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin
  • Tom Sawyer by Rush
  • Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin
  • Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd
  • Baba O’Riley by The Who
  • Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones
  • Runnin’ Down a Dream by Tom Petty
  • Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen
  • Won’t Get Fooled Again by The Who
  • Listen to the Music by The Doobie Brothers
  • (Don’t Fear) The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult
  • American Woman by The Guess Who

Mary:

Zika led a round of small and large leg circles to close out
