Team Coupon Carries up THWM

5 decided they were primed for pine time this morning and took to the Pine with humility and humidity.  There’s nothing like embarking on a Pine run only to realize that running up the hill to exit OEC is a chore in and of itself.  In any case, we persisted and survived today’s Pine.

On to the next t-shirt, and on to the main event.  14 presented for the ME, including FNG Bed and Breakfast, who knows Right Swipe.  We tried not to hold that against him, but it was tough, and still is.  He rocked the workout.  Here is how it went down.

Carry coupons to bottom of THWM.  Split into 3 groups (5, 5, and 4).  Group 1 carries coupons to the second gate.  Group 2 backward runs with 25 merkins and jump squats at each gate.  Group 3 bunny hops/ broad jumps with 25 merkins and jump squats at each gate.  Here were the coupons:

  • 90 lb. sandbag
  • 60 lb. pancake
  • 40 lb. pancake
  • 45 lb. ruck
  • 30 lb. weighted vest
  • 2 60 lb. KBs
  • 2 45 lb. KBs
  • 1 70 lb. KB (Binksy)

The coupon carry was a timed challenge, and each group got a crack at each method of travel up the mountain.  Group 1 won with a time of 2:45, while the others finished above 3 minutes.  So group 1 got to choose its exercise to travel from the gates to the tree line, and Subprime, carrying the heavy crown of team captain, chose lunge walks.  Groups 2 and 3 travel-burpeed to the top.  With the humidity, this workout was tough.  Pretty sure we could have been playing Jenga and still would have needed a second t-shirt, though.

At this point, Mary kicked in.  A 20 cadence count of flutters, LBCs, H2H, and Russian Hammers took us home.
