Tater Tot’s NEW Favorite Spot

October 9, 2017

WHEN: 10/09/2017
QIC: Floyd
PAX: Homes, Kevin, Fingers, Moore, DOI, Nacho Libre, Eddie the Eagle, Ruxpin, Sherman, Bogey, Fahvergnugen, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Nucky, Pookie, Spooky, Floyd, Zika, Boo Boo, Matlock (FNG)

19 PAX rolled into the idyllic pre-planned community of Southern Village. It was raining, pretty steadily. Someone mentioned that there was a parking deck that we could use to keep dry. YHC does not roll like that. YHC loves F3 in the rain. So that’s what we did.

One might note that Tater Tot is referenced in the title of this backblast. One might assume that he was present, or if not, he would at least be aware that his name was being used. One would be wrong. Today’s workout did include a Tater Tot reference. And also a lot of people all the sudden do not like this very nice man, who through no fault of his own, has become persona non grata in southern Chapel Hill. Sorry Taters.

Also of note, when Qing a site that you have never been to before, Google maps is a great tool. But someone needs to tell someone that a statue seen on Google maps that YHC was going to use as a reference point was removed. Anyway, YHC improvised and dragged a soggy cardboard trash can out to its spot and all was well.

Warm-Up:
SSH x 30
Windmills x 10
Mountain Climbers x 20
Calf Stretches
Willie Mayes Hayes x 10
Arm Circles x 20

The THANG:
Circuit City:
Start in the pavilion. Run to soggy cardboard trash can (~50 yards) and back and do the first exercise. Once done, run again. Rinse and repeat until all exercises are complete, then plank it out.
1. 20 Merkins (Spooky wiped out on the run back due to slick surfaces. Physics at work)
2. 20 Jump Squats
3. 10 Burpees
4. 20 Mountain Climbers
5. 20 Ski Abs

Plank City: Right arm high, regular, Left arm high, low plank. Recover.

Tater Tot’s NEW Favorite Spot:

At House of Pain in Durham (Durham’s Wednesday AO), there is a spot with a small wall and a big wall. Tater Tot has named this area “Tater Tot’s Favorite Spot.” Tater Tot’s tradition is to split the group into 2 groups. One group does 30 single count dips, the other group does balls to the wall until the dips were done. Then switch places. So YHC found a nice big wall and small wall and we did that. Let me tell you, the things said about Tater Tot during the second BTTW were just plain mean.

Repeat for a total of 2 sets.

Usain Bolts
Line up in the pavillion. One PAX calls out an exercise and runs around the sidewalk around the green. Halfway around, the next PAX calls out another exercise. Rinse and repeat until all PAX have called an exercise and run a lap. There were 19 different exercises and YHC won’t remember them all, but exercises included: Merkins, Burpees, WWII situps, Jump Lunges, Windmills (twice!), more burpees (after DOI tried to get the group to Floyd plank), Carolina Dry Docks, and many more.

Back to Tater Tot’s NEW Favorite Spot:
Again split the group into 2. 1/2 does People’s Chair, the other half does 10 Irkins and 10 Derkins. Switch. Repeated once for a total of 2 rounds

Run back to the Pavillion, line up and Bear crawl to the soggy refuse bin and run back. Floyd plank until everyone is back.

Mary:
LBC’s x 50
Flutter kicks x 40
Heels to heaven x 30
High Plank x 20 count
Low Plank x 10 count
