Still not sure which came first, the chicken or the egg.

WHEN: 01/09/2018
QIC: Knope
PAX: SalPal, OPEC, Green Egg, Sweatervest, Happy Gilmore, Sherwin, Floyd, Cool J, Porterhouse, Soda Popinski, Sweats, Elf, Boucher, Blistex, Threepeat, Roach, Chubbs, Toolbox, Smeagol, Knope

20 PAX appeared out of gloom for some partner work and to answer the age old question of which came first, the Chicken or the Egg?

This was YHC’s second Q, and what I learned from my first Q was that I planned too much for the time we had.  To not run out of time we started at 5:30 sharp.  20 PAX appeared out of the balmy gloom to warm up with:

Good Mornings x 10

WMH x 10

LBAC/RLBAC x 10

Seal Clap x 15

SSH x 25

The PAX headed to the playground and partnered up for Pull Ups – AMRAP plus 5 with partner help x 3 sets.  If the partner wasn’t spotting, they were planking.

Hat tip to Sweatervest for guiding the PAX to the tennis courts while I got the music going to kick off the thang:

We did “Bring Sally Up” as people exhausted out; they placed themselves on alternating sides of the tennis courts, giving us two teams, the Chickens and the Eggs.  Bring Sally Up was a good way to evenly divide the crew.  Once we divided into two teams, three key instructions were given;

  1. Don’t compromise form for speed
  2. Pick up the 6 on your team
  3. If you’re the 6 shout out your reps for your team to know when to halt.

The losing team had to do 3 burpees.  Exercises and the winning team went in this order:

  1. 40 – Monkey Humpers – Eggs
  2. 40 – Alternating Shoulder Taps -Eggs
  3. 50 – Air Squats – Eggs
  4. Partner Wheelbarrow – Side Line to Side Line to Side Line – Eggs
  5. Bunny Hops – Side Line to Side Line – Chickens
  6. 30 – Merkins – Chickens
  7. 30 – Right Leg Squats – Chickens
  8. 30 – Left Leg Squats-Chickens
  9. 25 – Hand Release Merkins – Chickens
  10. Crab Walk – Side Line to Side Line – Eggs
  11. Duck Walk – Side Line to Side Line – Eggs
  12. 50 – Air Presses – Chickens

I had hoped to report whether the chicken or the egg came in first (in Churham F3 anyway) but alas, time expired on our experiment and it ended in a 6-6 tie.  Not all was lost, we did find out that Merlot doesn’t pair well with either.

We circled up for some quick Mary:

Flutter Kicks x 30

LBC x 19 (YHC got ahead in the count)

Circle of Trust:

  1. Chubbs VQ is tomorrow at Hurricanrana.
  2. If you haven’t done so already, please take a look at the Q sign up tab on the F3 Churham Epic Mega Document. If there’s an AO you frequent, sign up.
  3. The Bull is coming, shooting for an Aprilish Event.
  4. No prayer requests, thank you Toolbox for taking us out.

Random Moleskin:

Bring Sally Up was done at the start of my second workout (I’m happy to say I made it through much more of the song today than I did before).  It was a good way to break the PAX into a two equal teams.  I was worried that this workout would be too choppy, but there was less mumblechatter than expected, and a couple ten counts were necessary.

I appreciate all of the guys that show up each day as a part of the F3 community and help hold me accountable to being healthier.  It’s an honor to Q a workout and be a leader within F3, even though it’s just for a morning.  If you haven’t Q’d please do it, step out of the gloom, and step out of your comfort zone.  If you don’t feel that you’re quite ready to do it, I assure you that you are.  The PAX are forgiving, and helpful to a new Q.

Thursday marks the fourth month that I’ve been involved with F3.  It’s been an amazing change in my daily life.  I often think of how much work must have gone into launching F3 Churham.  For those of you that did it, thank you.
