With the Tar Heel 10 Miler now in the rear view mirror, it was time to focus on the next challenge. Next on the list, the Spartan Super in Fayetteville. Spartan races provide an insane mix of endurance and strength. YHC loaded all the Spartan Training gear, and brought it down to Conjunction Junction. It was time to Spartan up!!
5 PAX made it out for an EC Coupon Ruck along the fire road on the Carolina North Trails. We got back a few minutes late and Fish and Chips was kind of enough to be getting the rest of the PAX warmed up for YHC.
Warm-Up:
We honored Bob Dorough, the writer of the “Conjunction Junction” song, by listening to the song. We alternated between SSH and mountain climbers everytime the song said Conjunction Junction.
Spartan Virtual Challenge: Body Weight Edition
Last month the guys at Spartan threw out their second virtual challenge. YHC had the opportunity to complete the challenge in front of an SGX certified coach at Warrior Tech, and it was brutal to say the least. Now the challenge is to complete the workout as fast as possible, but YHC made an executive order to do the challenge together.
- 30 Air Squats
- 30 Burpees
- 30 Lunges (15 each leg)
- 30 Russian Twist
- Repeat 3 more times
Spartan Speed Course
This was a challenge that each PAX got to finish as fast as they could. While each PAX ran, we did a variety of AMRAP exercises, switching after each leg of the course. Thanks to Elf and Beano, we had enough gear to let 2 PAX run simultaneously.
