Ice Up Son

January 19, 2018

WHEN: 01/19/2018
QIC: Shake It
PAX: OPEC, Peach, Cooter, Knope, Justice, Shake It

YHC realizes that his last couple of Q’s in Durham have been really running intensive.  Luckily, with a ton of snow on the ground and icy patches near tire marks, running/sprinting this morning was out of the question.  YHC ran in from Woodcroft without too much trouble.  6 PAX in all would make the trek along the icy roads of Durham.

Warm-Up: All exercises completed in cadence

  • SSH x20
  • WMH x10
  • Good Morning x10
  • Overhead Clap x15
  • Seal Claps x10

The Thang:

Location 1: The Parking Lot

We traveled the length of the parking lot alternating between two lunges and two squats.  Once at the far end, we traveled back to the start via bear crawl and performed a merkin every fourth step.

Location 2: The Traffic Circle

We carefully made our way to the traffic circle watching out for icy patches. Quick pitstop at the brick ledge for 20 dips in cadence and 15 single count derkins.  Upon arriving at the traffic circle, we first did a set of 16 curb merkins.  Curb merkins are performed by alternating between performing a merkin on the curb and off the curb.  With hands on the curb, we did 10 burps in cadence.  The PAX finished their time up on the curb by doing two full plank walk rotations around the circle, one clockwise and the other counterclockwise.

Location: The Covered Walkway

The covered walkway was the only snow and ice free zone at Jordan.  We did a three exercise pyramid in a ratio of 1 manmaker: 2 merkins: 3 squats.  We went all the way up to 7:14:21 before making our way back down.
