Introduction:

Eddie the Eagle joined YHC for a EC Recon Ruck. YHC has a sense of what work the PAX should do this AM, but having not spent much time in Pittsboro, the Recon Ruck provided the needed intel for the where of the work.

12 PAX in total arrived in a timely manner, mumblechatter was had, and then the work began.

The THANG:

The PAX headed south, past the traffic circle, our destination a parking lot across from the ABC store. We split into 2 groups of 6 and began the ground work:

• Indian Bear Crawl: From one end of the parking lot to the other, both groups lined up in a single file plank line. The last person bear crawled to the front while the other PAX performed slow merkins and various planks. Rinse and repeato until the end of the lot.

Mosey to the 9/11 memorial:

• Descending couplet of Dips and Step Ups. 1 set each of 15, then 10, then 5

Mosey back to the parking lot

• Indian Crab Walk: From one end of the parking lot to the other, both groups lined up in a single file reverse plank line. The last person crab walked to the front while the other PAX held the reverse plank. Rinse and repeato until the end of the lot.

Mosey back to the AO. At this point, some PAX felt like we’d have a really long Mary. Nope!

• Lazy Dora: Pair up, with your partner complete 100 merkins, 200 LBCs and 300 squats. While there is no run (hence Lazy Dora) the partner not performing the movement held plank, 6″ leg hold, or low squat

While we did a lot of ground work, amazing things are afoot far above. Yesterday, Elon Musk launched a Tesla into space that, if not hit by an asteroid, will orbit the sun for milennia! The launch of the Heavy Falcon was an amazing success in itself, both boosters simultaneously landing on the launch pad was quite a sight!

Humans are capable of so much good. Elon Musk said, “The first step is to establish that something is possible; then probability will occur.” Be bold. Do great things. While we did a lot of ground work, it’s that ground work that provides a foundation for reaching up and out to others, the sky, the cosmos. Go be awesome.
