March 14, 2018

WHEN: 03/14/2018

PAX: Rambler, Hickory, Skynyrd, Flenderson, Grunge, Golden Pinky, Nanu Nanu, Zook, Fieri, Bright Idea, Horny Toad, Marky Mark, Stinky Pete, Duplo, Dueling Banjos, Closer, Chum

Preamble

5 for a quick EC ruck, 5 for EC Murph, and 1 for EC bathroom break.

YHC had the privilege to Q The Jag the other week.  However, despite the variety of options at that site, YHC had opted to put together a workout of simple design — so simple, that we didn’t even need to leave the parking lot.  But simple designs are not necessarily correlated to simple workouts, as one of the Pax stated he had learned to fear any workout that didn’t leave the parking lot.  So, in the interest of keeping things interesting, I decided that for today’s workout we would get out of the parking lot.

  • Zook has 40 kids signed up for his kid-focused running club. He’s grateful for all of the support, to include from FiA.

  • APFT at The Cougar next week (3/21/18).
  • The Gambler – Chatham’s inaugural CSAUP event – on 3/24/18 at 0800 at The Big House. See #thegambler on Slack for additional details.
  • The Bull (Durham CSAUP) on 4/14/18 at 0700 at West Point on the Eno. Sign up via Churham Epic Mega Document.
  • Zook vs. Rambler during the Tobacco Road Marathon.  Zook is running; Rambler is rucking the 1/2.  Call your bookie & place your bets.

COT/BOM:

Thank you for the support as well as the opportunity to lead today.  Generally, I’m a fan of the KISS philosophy (Keep It Simple, Sucka).  Sometimes, though, it’s rewarding to push away from the norm and do things a little differently.  Variety can be beneficial.

Moleskin

  • Much love to Skynyrd for letting YHC use his key card to get in the clubhouse after the EC ruck. Gotta respect the deuce.
  • I work with a lady who enjoys listening to the name-o-rama; DB thought that had a “porn-esque” quality.
  • T-claps to Flenderson who continues to push during EC!
  • RG3 needs a new alarm clock…
