Farmers Can Carry

Introduction:

YHC, Golden Pinky, and Grunge took to the trails for a 3 mile EC run. It was cold. It was rooty. It was rocky. It was fantastic. Grunge is technically on IR due to a case of broken ribs, so he only ran. Griswold busted out some pullups, and then we assembled for the ME.

Warm-O-Rama:

25 SSH
10 Imperial Walkers
10 Willy Mays Hays
10 Forward Arm Circles
10 Backward Arm Circles
11 Slow Merkins
Fellowship lap around the parking lot

The THANG:

Farmer Carry is an awesome exercise. Simply put, it is a whole body exercise that builds muscle mass, grip strength, increases capacity, makes you crap gold and spit bullets!

1 PAX Farmer Carry @ #115 per handle. Distance 100 yards. The same PAX yells out an exercise the other 3 will do until his return. Rinse and repeato.
The Other Stuff:
KB Swings
Flutter Kicks with weight overhead
Bicep Curls
Sumo Deadlift
Goblet Squat
Weighted Sit Ups
Others that are no longer remembered

Each PAX did 2 turns on the Farmer Carry and another 2 turns on a 60# sandbag. As penance for not doing all 4 turns with the handles, the last few minutes were spent doing Farmer Carry laps around the parking lot. 1 PAX would take the handles as far as he was able and switch out as needed.

It was glorious. We were smoked. We got stronger

We lift up these two and their families in this time of mourning, confusion, anger, and every other emotion under the sun. We also must ask what compels more and more among us to think that this course of action is acceptable? We, as a society, must reflect on the why. We must have those tough conversations. We must not shame or dismiss peoples’ pain. We must trust each other enough to discuss those pains without fear of shaming or dismissal. Teach your kids. Talk to your peers. Be agents of healing and change.
