Duck Two Ways

Nine motivated men converged at Hillsborough’s Weaver Street Market to start the day with a bang.  On this day, YHC found motivation in the AO name, Duck and Weave.  One of my favorite proteins that you can’t just find anywhere is duck.  It has a very distinct taste and texture, and it takes a high level of culinary skill to maintain that perfect pink center, while also achieving a crispy skin on the outside.  With a side of sweet potato mash or roasted veggies, YHC is momentarily in heaven.  Is anyone else hungry right now?

This morning, we toured the quaint town of Hillsborough and cooked duck two ways (running and bootcamp exercises).

WARM UP – SSH, Windmill, Slow Merkins, Air Squats, Arm Circles

THE THANG – “String of Pearls”

Using the two shopping cart stalls in the parking lot, each PAX completed 10 dips, 10 derkins, and 10 hanging knee tucks.  Each PAX completed an “Ostrich Walk” across the parking lot to stretch the legs.

The PAX then ran as a group down to W. King Street, turned left, and began running approximately one mile down to the entrance of Gold Park (by Hillsborough BBQ and Mystery Brewing Co.).  We stopped at two points along the run to reconnect the group and complete a few sets of air squats and merkins.

Upon arrival at Gold Park, the PAX completed traveling burpees across the parking lot until arriving at the playground.  The group then split in half and took turns rotating between 15 swerkins on the swings and 10 pull ups on the playground.  Everyone completed two sets of each exercise.

Afterwards, we began the 1-mile run back to the Weaver Street, but this time we took the River Walk trail to change up the scenery a bit.  As with the run out, we stopped at a couple of points along the River Walk to complete air squats, flutter kicks, low squat holds, and merkins.

The PAX arrived back right at the 45-minute mark, so there was no official Mary.  However, Ito did a nice job leading the group through a few stretching exercises prior to CoT.
