Do we have a triceps deficiency?

September 4, 2017

WHEN: 09/04/2017
QIC: Chef Tell
PAX: Can you hear me now?, The Closer, Cousin Vinny, Dueling Banjos, Duplo, Four Eyes (FNG), Germ, Griswold, ICE, Kosher (FNG), Mothman, Mumbles, Podrick, Skynyrd, Stinky Pete, Sussudio

One PAX (YHC) met to know the darkness for 0430 pull-ups. It was dark. And lonely. And made YHC realize that 0430 pull-ups is probably not a good idea. YHC was glad to be joined by Skynyrd for 0500 ruck. Stinky Pete led solo Spartan EC at 0515. Yes, EC is early, but you’re already up early. So get up earlier, because EC is good.

Seventeen PAX for the main event. Meet in Woods Charter parking lot at 0545. Quick disclaimer for the two FNGs. Time to get after it.

Warm-up:

  • SSH in cadence x40
  • Merkins in cadence x15
  • Willie Mays Hayes x10

The Thang:

Mosey to the shelter for the dips. Dips in cadence x10. Repeato 4x.

Travel from shelter to Pollard. Mosey + Bear Crawl + Mosey + Lunge Walk + Mosey.

Arrive at Pollard and split into two groups.

  • Round 1: Group 1 step-ups on benches, Group 2 Curb Urkins. Switch.
  • Round 2: Group 1 step-ups on benches, Group 2 Curb Derkins. Switch.

Mosey to the stairs for Stair-step Merkins. PAX perform one Merkin at each step until reaching the soccer field. Plank hold until all PAX reach the top.

Circle up in the middle of field for Merkin Pyramid (1…5…1).

All the Merkins and Dips left at least one PAX member asking YHC if I noticed a triceps deficiency among the group this morning. Well, if there was, there certainly isn’t one anymore.

Begin mosey back to Woods. First stop along the way: 5 burpees OYO. Second stop along the way: AYG sprint to the top of Great Ridge. Third stop: bear crawl up and over the big grass hill by the basketball court. Fourth stop: back to the shelter for more dips (in cadence x10. Repeato 2x).

Mary:

  • American Hammers in cadence x40
  • Flutter Kicks in cadence x15
  • American Hammers in cadence x15
  • LBC in cadence x15
  • American Hammers in cadence x10

Announcements:

  • CORA Third F opportunity on 9/9/17 from 10:00-2:00. See CORA Slack channel for more details.
  • Stinky Pete with a shout out to encourage more PAX to join in Spartan training. Especially spear throwing!
  • YHC with a shout out to the ruck crew, and encouragement for more PAX to join EC rucks. This is a great time for 2F. It’s much easier to have a conversation with fellow PAX on a ruck, than when getting smoked during the ME.

BOM:

No prepared remarks–which led to a message on uncertainty. We had two men join us this morning who did not know what they were getting into. I hope for them it exceeded their expectations. I also did not prepare a planned workout for this morning, which is a good exercise in battling uncertainty. A great mental test to go along with the physical test.

YHC closed by discussing F3’s impact on my life, and how F3 is a solution for the male loneliness epidemic that is facing American men. Go out and put the EH (emotional headlock) and another man this week, because you know he needs F3 just as badly as you do.

If you have the day off, make time for what is important in life. If you are working today, go out and crush it and start the week off right!

As always, it was an honor to lead you men this morning.

Aye!
