Catch of the Day

February 26, 2018

WHEN: 02/23/2018
QIC: Fish and Chips
PAX: Hightower, Gibson, Blistex, Conception, Nubbin, Buffay, Virgo, Soybean, Pusher, Crop Duster, Nickelback, Fish and Chips

I have the pleasure of recounting Fish and Chip’s Q in the historic downtown Hillsborough. YHC came in hot to the workout and was pleasantly greeted by Gibson who made his valiant return to the Duck and Weave in style after getting 10pm text message that proved to be all the emotional head locking needed. Enough rambling, time to get to the main act, the “Catch of the Day” Q.

Warm-Up

Fish and Chips always bring some culture to the Duck and Weave and his warm-up got us moving with some Yoga moves. The best part of it all was just as we started our first downward dog the morning birds started chirping right on “Q” and started the morning off the way one would expect in the Northern Province of Churham-all class.

  • SSH 20x
  • Arm circles 20x
  • Willie Maze Haze 10x

The Thang

Under Fish & Chip’s direction, we partnered up at parking deck for our instructions. The Pax all started on the base level of the deck and each partner ran up the deck up opposite stairwells. At the top of the deck each set of partners found each other and completed 15 Boo Ya! Merkins. Once completed they once again ran down opposite stairwells and met at the bottom for some what I refer to as “partner leg thrusters” which is not correct but pretty awesome and awkward name if I do say so myself. One partner would stand while the other would lie on the ground and grab his partners ankles as he lifted his legs 90 degrees up only to have his legs pushed down toward the ground while thrusting them back up. We did these partner leg thrusters 20x to complete round 1. Fish and Chips had us complete 4 rounds of top deck Boo Ya! Merkins and Partner Leg Thrusters.

As the Pax completed their 4 rounds they planked it out. Buffay had the brilliant idea of one Pax member leap frogging around the planking pax and then the six would start. Fish and Chips explained “brilliance!” akin to an Guinness commercial as he praised the ingenuity of the Hillsborough Pax. But he had more planned for us.

Our next mission was to make it back up the parking deck, but this time as an entire Pax. Here is how we scaled the deck:

  • bear crawls to 2nd floor
  • 5 man makers
  • crab walks to 3rd floor
  • 5 man makers
  • gorilla hops
  • karaoke
  • 10 man makers
  • lunges

Moleskin

What a great morning, the Pax had a renewed energy seeing our fan favorite Fish & Chips, and riding the high from a successful F2 event the night before. Big things happening in Hillsborough thanks to a committed core group who always pushes themselves including this morning. Keep it up men!
