Burpees In The Bell Tower

6 PAX emerged for a pre-dawn 3.5 mile jaunt around a quiet Carolina campus and eerily empty Franklin Street.
Ito & QE had the advantage (?) of their warm-up mile run from home and were kind enough to let the other 4 PAX keep up with them for the 5K tour.

The Warm Up

SSH (x25 IC)
5 burpees (OYO)
WMH (x25 IC)
5 burpees (OYO)
BWS (x25 IC)
5 burpees (OYO)

With the morning glow of the sun attempting to slowly emerge from tops of the trees, the PAX took off down Stadium drive to the west side of Kenan on approach to the Bell Tower Parking Deck.
The stairs on the west side of Kenan offer a well-lit & wide welcome for the PAX as we switched our mode of decent from a simple run to bear crawl down the steps.  SSH to recover until all PAX have finished.

We then continued our journey up the hill to the lower level of the Bell Tower Parking Deck.
Beginning on P1 (P7 is the top), the PAX were given their instructions.

At each level (P1/P2/P3…P7) the PAX completed that same number of Burpees as the number level .
Once  each level is complete; ascend the stairs to the next level.
P1 = 1 burpee. Climb.
P2 = 2 burpees. Climb.
P3 = 3 burpees. Climb…until P7 = 7 burpees.  Recover in low squat hold until all PAX complete.
10 burpees OYO.  Return to the bottom level: P1

Next – Merkins.  Multiply each level x2 (P1 = 2 reps, P2 = 4 reps, P3 = 6 reps…P7 = 14 reps) and complete that number of merkins while ascending the stairs.  Merkins (x2/4/6/8/10/12/14).
Recover in low squat hold until all PAX complete.
10 burpees OYO.  Return to the bottom level: P1

Next – Carolina Dry Docks.  Multiply each level x3 (P1 = 3, P2 = 6, P3 = 9 reps, etc.) and complete that number of Carolina Dry Docks while ascending the stairs. Dry Docks (x3/6/9/12/15/18/21).

Recover in low squat hold until all PAX complete.

With the clock ticking, we recovered on the long decent down the Bell Tower Deck ramp and reconvened at the same West-Kenan stairs we’d previously bear-crawled.
The stairs are broken up into 5 flights of approx. 10-12 stairs per flight.  Our instructions were;

Run up 1 flight; 5 merkins; run back down.
Run up 2 flights; 5 merkins; run back down.
Run up 3 flights; 5 merkins; run back down.
Run up 4 flights; 5 merkins; run back down.
Run up 5 flights; 5 merkins; run back down.
Next was the final ascent up the stairs, so naturally we alternated climbing flights:
Crawl bear. Bunny hop. Crawl bear. Bunny hop. Crawl bear.

Mary
A quick return to the launch point allowed us enough time for 2 Minutes of Mary.
Imperial Walkers (x15 IC)
Dying Cockroach (x15 IC)
Ring-of-fire: High/Low Plank (5 count all around; x17 PAX).
