For EC YHC and Chef Tell met at the playground and alternated between pull ups and various sandbag exercises. It was casual, but enough of an effort that we were thoroughly warmed up when Griswold rolled in for the main event.

Imperial Walker x10 IC

The Thang:

Last week a PAX, who shall remain nameless as he did not show this AM, requested that benching under the stars should make another appearance. Coincidentally, I had the Q this week and decided to accommodate the request. I challenged the PAX and myself to complete 500 aggregate reps. With only 3 PAX present, we had some concern that that number might be difficult to reach. Accompanying the bench were various kettlebells, sandbags, and a slam ball. The rules were simple: 1 person on the bench press, working to failure, 1 person resting/spotting, and the rest of the PAX (all 1 of them) doing a Choose You Own Adventure with the remaining equipment.

Chef Tell led the way, banging out 35 reps out of the gate. YHC managed the same….after that it was all a blur. In short, we dropped from 35 to 30 to 20ish to 15ish. 30ish minutes later we hit the 500 mark! Recognizing that we had 10 minutes left, we grabbed the sandbags and farmer carried them around the parking lot to work on grip strength and core.

Cooldown:

High Plank
Low Plank
Some random yoga stretches to ensure our pecs would not hate us all day
Flutter Kicks
Floyd Planks
