Animals Take Shelter

You had to be a true Animal to come out today, but even the Animals had to take measures to protect themselves from the icy blasts of arctic air that have settled into the area.  Today’s workout was relocated to the Bell Tower Parking Deck.

Aus Jus led off the first half with some brief warm-ups exercises following by a run nearly to the top of the deck and then back to the bottom.  Starting at the bottom, we commenced a sequence of running to the next level of the deck, completing 10 burpees OYO, and performing an exercise of a pax’s choice.  We repeated until almost to the top of the deck.

Food Lion took over the second half with a HIIT routine of 30 seconds on and ~15 seconds rest (enough time for a pax to count to 10 and get into position for the next exercise).  We performed 3 pairs of exercises two times each.  The first pair was star jumps and backbows.  The second pair was lizard hops and supine merkins and the final pair was mount everests and divebomber merkins.  Halfway through it was pointed out that the Q had picked a particularly cold area of the deck to do this portion of the work-out, so we shuffled down to a slightly warmer area to help those who could not stay warm despite the Q’s best efforts to maintain the intensity.

Next we frog jumped up the deck for 30 seconds, flipped on our backs for 30 seconds of flutters kicks, rested for a 10 count, and repeated both again.  At that point it was time to job to the bottom where it was warmest for some Mary.  We wrapped up with some nolan ryan/robin venturas, high crunches, apple pickers, box cutters, and a ring of fire with 5 hand clap merkins performed by each man.

Following the work-out some pax headed over to Rise to hear how much easier their work-out could have been if they had decided to follow the crowd and gone to #westend’s 61 minutes of pleasure instead.
